Successful Grant Applications

2020 Kentucky Oral History Commission Transcription Grant

I successfully applied for a grant from the Kentucky Oral History Commission to transcribe 17 interviews with Bowling Green, KY, musicians, record store owners, and local historians. Kentucky Folklife Program staff conducted the interviews during fieldwork for the Kentucky Musical Legacy Project. Once completed, the transcriptions will be archived in the Western Kentucky University Folklife Archives.

2020 KOHC COVID-19 in Kentucky Oral History Project

In Fall of 2020, the Kentucky Oral History Commission released a request for proposals for fieldworkers to conduct oral histories with Kentuckians about their experiences during the coronavirus pandemic. I successfully applied for a grant to conduct and index four interviews with Bowling Green locals, including a political organizer, a COVID-19 ward nurse, and a high school teacher.

This project is ongoing.
